Parish President Hotard recently welcomed President Biden and his Administration to St. John the Baptist Parish to survey the damage from Hurricane Ida firsthand.
President Hotard thanked the President for calling out insurance companies for distinguishing between mandatory and voluntary evacuations. Ida rapidly intensified and changed course without time for safe evacuations and residents should be justly compensated.
President Hotard also communicated the immediate and urgent need for power, water, communications, and financial assistance and thanked President Biden for the response on the ground and continuing to ramp up those efforts.
