Planning Commission
Overview
The St. John the Baptist Parish Planning Commission is responsible for developing and adopting a master plan for the physical development of the unincorporated areas within the parish. This plan includes a general description or depiction of existing roads, streets, highways, and publicly controlled corridors, along with other public properties within the jurisdiction. The commission's recommendations may cover various aspects such as transportation routes, public buildings, utilities, and the removal, relocation, or extension of public ways, grounds, open spaces, buildings, property, utilities, or terminals.
The Planning Commission holds regular meetings to discuss and make decisions on matters related to planning and development. These meetings are open to the public and take place in the Parish Council Chambers at 1811 W. Airline Highway, LaPlace, LA 70068, starting at 5:30 p.m.
