All St. John the Baptist Parish Water Systems Earn “A” Ratings in 2025
St. John the Baptist Parish. - The Louisiana Department of Health (LDH) has released its 2025 water system ratings, and all St. John the Baptist Parish water systems once again earned “A” ratings. According to LDH, only 41% of water systems statewide received an “A” rating this year, making the achievement especially noteworthy for the Parish.
The 2025 ratings are:
Water District #1 (Reserve, Garyville and Mt. Airy): 103% —Grade A
Water District #2 (West Bank): 105% — Grade A
Water District #3 (LaPlace): 96% — Grade A
Pleasure Bend Water Supply: 104% — Grade A
In addition, all St. John water systems received bonus points for strong asset management and maintenance planning.
“Receiving all A ratings across every St. John water system in 2025 reflects the dedication and professionalism of our entire water operations team,” said Parish President Jaclyn Hotard. “We remain committed to investing in the infrastructure and management practices that keep our water safe, reliable and among the best in the state.”
The LDH grading system evaluates public water systems based on several factors, including water quality, operations and maintenance, infrastructure, and financial sustainability.
The grading program is required under Act 98 of the 2021 Regular Session of the Louisiana Legislature.
