Another Step Toward Resiliency for St. John Water System

St. John Parish has added a mobile generator to support the LaPlace Well water system, helping ensure water service remains uninterrupted during hurricanes and flood events.

The Laplace water well system is located in a flood-prone area near Lake Pontchartrain, and when power is lost during storms, this site has been especially vulnerable. With this new mobile generator, we now have the flexibility to remove and protect the equipment ahead of a storm, then return it as soon as conditions allow all while continuing to supply water using our built-in storage capacity.

“This is one more way we’re preparing ahead of peak hurricane season and for the future,” said Parish President Jaclyn Hotard. “We continue to invest in protecting critical infrastructure and keeping services running.”
