Parish President Hotard and staff joined FEMA, GOHSEP and other Parish Presidents from across the region as WWL Radio opened their new emergency radio broadcast studio.

The WWL facility serves as a Primary Entry Point Station, the only one in Louisiana, for FEMA’s National Public Warning System, and will assist in keeping the public informed during emergencies - even if all other communications are down.

“Local media is critical to getting information out and this facility provides yet another avenue to ensure we keep residents informed in the event of a disaster or communications failure,” said Parish President Hotard.
