Parish President Hotard, Officials Break Ground on West Bank Mississippi River Trail Project
Parish President Jaclyn Hotard, along with the Council, staff, and representatives from design and construction teams, joined community members to break ground on the West Bank Mississippi River Trail Phase Two Project in Edgard.
Phase Two of the trail is a four-mile extension and will extend the path to West St. John Elementary School.
The project will feature four bonfire shelves, creating safe spaces for gatherings during bonfire season. Additionally, a new ADA-compliant ramp will be installed across from the St. John Courthouse, ensuring accessibility for individuals with disabilities.
“This project fosters community engagement, encourages outdoor activity, and offers a scenic route along the Mississippi River,” said President Hotard. “We’re excited to secure another grant from DOTD, which will fund most of the project. We look forward to bringing more initiatives like this to the community in the future.”
