-- Office Closure

All St. John the Baptist Parish Government Offices will remain closed Friday, September 13, 2024. Offices will resume normal operations Monday, September 16, 2024. The Edgard Courthouse will reopen Friday, September 13, 2024.

— Damage Assessments in St. John Underway

The St. John Parish Fire Department and Parish staff are out assessing properties. This is an important process required by the State to determine federal disaster assistance. If you experienced flooding, please separate debris on roadside.

— Long Term Recovery

Parish President Hotard Announces Activation of St. John Parish Long Term Recovery Group

If your home was damaged due to Hurricane Francine and you are uninsured, then you can stop by New Wine, Monday through Thursday, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. to fill out an application requesting assistance.

New Wine is located at 1929 Airline Highway in LaPlace.

— Entergy Restoration Efforts

Entergy is actively restoring power in St. John. Approximately 5883 customers remain out currently.

—Road Closures

Highway 51 is closed from Main St. to Ruddock due to water.

— Limit Sewage: Due to the amount of rain and power losses, please limit sewer use, including washing clothes, dishes and unnecessary showering/flushing.

— Garbage services will not run today due to street flooding and downed power lines. However, garbage services will run Friday, Saturday, and double collection services on Monday.
