Parish President Jaclyn Hotard joined Parish Presidents from across the Region, GNO, Inc., and Insurance Commissioner Jim Donelon, to urge Congress to delay implantation of Risk Rating 2.0 which could adversely affect flood insurance rates for homeowners.

Officials also announced support of a congressional bill allowing National Flood Insurance Program policyholders to maintain current rates until FEMA can meet certain accountability measures.

“The new FEMA Risk Rating 2.0 could not come at a worse time for Louisiana,” said Parish President Jaclyn Hotard. “Residents who were devastated by Hurricane Ida and other disasters have been through enough and do not deserve to be victimized again. It is a must that there is significant NFIP reform now, and I support our regional leaders in this collective pushback of harmful rate increases.”

President Hotard encourages residents to look into Risk Rating 2.0 and how it may impact you. More information can be found at www.csfi.info.
