Parish President Hotard & Marathon Reveal 47th Annual Andouille Poster

St. John the Baptist Parish - Parish President Hotard and staff joined by Marathon, Andouille Festival Queens, stakeholders, and local officials kicked off the 47th Annual Andouille Festival Thursday with the unveiling of the official 2022 Andouille Festival poster. The Andouille Festival is scheduled for October 14th-16th at the Thomas F. Daley Memorial (Hwy 51) Park in LaPlace.

Parish President Hotard welcomed attendees, and expressed her excitement for the festival’s return in 2022. "It has been an unprecedented two years filled with many challenges and although Hurricane Ida recovery is still ongoing, we look forward to coming together on this weekend to celebrate great food, rides, music and more,” said Parish President Hotard.

Iman Montgomery spoke on behalf of Marathon and acknowledged their continued support as presenting sponsor and community partner. President Hotard then offered background information on this year’s poster artist, Karin Douroux, long-time Art Instructor and St. John resident. When creating this design, Karin wanted to “use imagery that reflected on things that represent St. John Parish & Andouille…the smokehouse, sugar cane, and the music of the festival with the focal point being a still life of the elements that go into making that first yummy pot of gumbo.” She also drew inspiration from the kids of St. John Parish and her many years of teaching art.
