Parish President Hotard Unveils Official Poster for 50th Annual Andouille Festival
St. John the Baptist Parish — The countdown to the 50th Annual Andouille Festival officially kicked off with the unveiling of this year’s commemorative poster, created by beloved local artist Dana Bardell Wallace.
At a special event Tuesday evening, Parish President Jaclyn Hotard was joined by local officials, community partners, and presenting sponsor Marathon Petroleum to celebrate the start of this golden anniversary season.
“This year’s festival isn’t just a milestone - it’s a celebration of who we are,” said Parish President Hotard. “For 50 years, the Andouille Festival has brought people together to share food, fun, music, and memories. Dana’s artwork captures that spirit beautifully.”
Wallace, who has created multiple posters for the Andouille Festival, reflected on her inspiration:
“I created this poster with love, and when I signed it, I felt that love radiate back. Every time I looked at it, I gave it to God to finish. It holds the spirit of the people who have lifted me, stood beside me, and, in a way, painted it with me.”
The 50th Annual Andouille Festival will take place October 17–19 at Thomas F. Daley Memorial Park in LaPlace. The weekend celebration will feature live music, delicious food, carnival rides, arts and crafts, the Andouille Run/Walk, Gospel Tent, Second Line Parade, and more.
