The National Weather Service is monitoring the potential for icy conditions on Sunday, January 25, 2026, from 12:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. mainly for areas north and west of St. John Parish.

What to Expect:
Freezing rain could lead to ice accumulations, especially on elevated surfaces such as bridges and overpasses. While the highest risk remains north and west of our area, a light glaze on elevated roadways cannot be ruled out closer to the I-10/I-12 corridor.

Potential Impacts:
• Slick roads and bridges
• Isolated power outages

Residents should focus on protecting the 4Ps:
• People: Dress in layers and limit prolonged exposure to the cold.
• Pets: Bring pets indoors and ensure they have warm shelter and freshwater.
• Plants: Cover sensitive vegetation to prevent freeze damage.
• Pipes: Insulate exposed pipes, drip faucets if needed, and know where your shut-off valve is located.

Please continue to stay informed through official Parish channels and take precautions ahead of the coldest temperatures. Sign up for Alerts by texting SJPWEATHER to 888-777 for updates.
